There are many ways of structuring public meetings and conversations. Some have brand names—Open Space, World Café, The Art of Hosting, etc. Others have evolved from a particular individual’s or organization’s experience. It makes sense to draw from whatever sources you wish to find techniques—formats, exercises, prompts, etc.—that fit the needs of a particular gathering. But in my experience, technique is not as important as understanding and practicing core principles that cultivate openness, equity, inclusion, transparency, and honest dialogue. Here are some I’ve found to be especially important.

Por Muta believes deeply in the frameworks of Society 4.0. Learning from emergent future and staying true to your heart lead us to using nature-based frameworks such as Theory of U, Art of Hosting, Circle, Deep Democracy, Socratic Dialogue, Non-violent Communication and Self-compassion. Por Muta is active in business and non-business environments, for conflict management and change management via these frameworks. Theory of U (Otto Scharmer) The U: One Process, Five Movements Theory U proposes that the quality of the results that we create in any kind of social system is a function of the quality of awareness, attention, or consciousness that the participants in the system operate from. Since it emerged around 2006, Theory U has come to be understood in three primary ways: first as a framework; second, as a method for leading profound change; and third, as a way of being - connecting to the more authentic of higher aspects of our self.
